03/23/07 Vest streamlining trial using diving time as a proxy for drag
Materials: modified first Modugno prototype with the mocked up
back unit, which is correct in form and weight, and a
fiberglass "turtle shell" to streamline the actuator
Methods: Each diver made 10 dives, alternating with the other. The dives
were made down the anchor rope to the bottom at 50 feet.
Every effort was made to make the dive profiles identical and
each dive time was recorded immediately upon surfacing. After
10 divers, the divers exchanged the vest for no vest and made
another 10 dices each for a total of 20 dives each.
