Computer/Console Features

Basic Design:

About the size of a typical scuba decompression meter
Menu access with 3 buttons.
Incorporates a large back-lit display for clear viewing
Two LEDs, one Green, one Red signify normal and abnormal operation
Held in place by a large wrist strap
Records in1-second intervals the depth and duration of each dive
Records and displays the surface duration between dives
Records and displays water temperature
Goes into sleep mode when not accessed for 8 hours
Accesses the dive history from the larger memory storage in the back inflation unit—each dive can be displayed in graphic format with maximum depth and duration of the dive. Will display the last 4,000 dives
Diver may annotate the graph of a special dive for recall later.

Display at the surface:

Displays time-of-day and temperature
Sets maximum duration and depth for each dive
Stores user-defined presets for several dive profiles for easy access, for example a shallow profile for white seabass hunters and a deeper one for drops on deep reefs.
Displays a graphical representation of the last 100 dives and the duration and the maximal depth of the dive. (The dive’s complete dive history—more than the last 4,000 dives—can be accessed from the memory storage contained in the back unit.)
Displays surface time interval, dive number, time of day and temperature, trigger time and trigger depth
Acknowledges and confirms that the vest has been disarmed
Displays the depth statistics for the day, for example, the total time spent at each depth in 10-ft increments

Display when diving:

Diver can select Backlight
Large character displays
Displays current depth, time underwater this dive, temperature, trigger time and trigger depth, number and depth of last dive
Displays dive time for current dive until 10-seconds before maximal time setting when it begins to count down for the last 10 seconds
Warns the diver graphically and with the LEDs  when he is nearing his maximal depth or duration.
3 languages, Metric, English systems

Command Inflation: The user may, buy pressing a button sequence while diving, cause the vest to inflate.

arm_and_arm_unit_lg.jpg (31890 bytes)

There is a small wire that runs down a sleeve within the arm sleeve that communicates with the back unit. It is not noticable in the water.

vest_sleeve.jpg (76321 bytes)

The arm unit lies inside the forearm where it can be seen easily and where it is out of the way of the hand.

The graphics are easy to read with just a glance toward the arm.

time_of_day.jpg (121834 bytes)

Time-of-day dsiplay. By toggling the middle button, the display changes to elapsed surface time.

compuer-console_surface_interval.jpg (124935 bytes)

Elapsed surface time dsiplay. By toggling the middle button, the display changes to time-of-day.

during_dive.jpg (114979 bytes)

The display during a dive.

triggers.jpg (69236 bytes)

Settung the trigger depth and time is easy.

menu_set_time.jpg (67817 bytes)

First menu display (left) and setting the time (right.).

Graph_dive.gif (161929 bytes)

A typical graph displaying the all-important surface interval (2:37 in this case)

stats_page.gif (230554 bytes)
The stats page shows the statistics for a range of dives. In this case, the last 17 dives totaled 8 minutes and 36 seconds in duration. The diver was deeper than 40 feet for 2:26, deeper than 30 feet for 4:07 and deeper than 20 feet for 6:08.
